Grading Process
Students will have many different opportunities to show what they have learned. Grades are determined using points. Point values for each assignment depend on the type of assignment. Often rubrics are used to grade students. These have been sent home so you are aware of what your child must do to get an A. The goal is always to reach for the highest score possible. Your work and effort are taken into consideration. In addition, each item included in your child’s final grade is categorized and assigned a specific “weight” or worth. For 3rd grade student’s work is weighted as followed:

**STEM Projects: In an effort to build student research skills and home collaboration, there will be projects given in STEM class. Please make sure that you help your child complete the project and turn it in on the required date. The projects will also be part of your child’s overall grade for the 10 week period. These projects will change the weight of the overall percentage in science/math.
